Big B in shock over The Great Gatsby rave review

New Delhi: It seems Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan has impressed critics overseas as well. Big B, who plays Meyer Wolfsheim in the Baz Luhrmann-directed The Great Gatsby, said he was in "shocked disbelief" after receiving a rave review for his debut role.

On Tuesday, Big B took to Facebook where he posted an excerpt from the The Great Gatsby review from Variety magazine which read, "By far the liveliest work in the film comes from two actors with only a few minutes of screen time between them: The lithe, long-limbed newcomer Elizabeth Debicki as gabby golf pro Jordan Baker, and, in a single scene that marks his belated Hollywood debut, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan as the flamboyant Jewish ‘gambler’ Meyer Wolfsheim."

In his further post he reacted saying, "In shocked disbelief .. no no this cannot be true .. !!!"

The 70-year-old star also recalled his first meeting with film’s director Baz Luhrmann on his blog, and wrote, "Baz remembers his meeting with us and a meal at his place here in NYC .. I wondered if he had forgotten ... people in his position and standing would perhaps do ... and legitimate too, without offence .. they are big and large and of much greater importance.. they are tall and I am not at all .. !!"

A few days ago when Big B was in New York to attend the premiere of the Hollywood film, the noise went up for a moment and the US media was left wondering if Leonardo DiCaprio had come, but the heart warmer was Big B, not Caprio.

"Thank you my ED. US media thought Leonardo had come, when noise went up," the actor tweeted.
