Bollywood and its cricket connection
Bollywood and cricket have an undefined connection, where one makes the other go crazy. History has it that Bollywood divas have often fallen for men on the cricket field.
Veteran Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore married late former Indian captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, nicknamed as, Tiger Pataudi, in a traditional nikaah ceremony in 1969. Sharmila even converted to Islam before marriage and changed her name to Ayesha Begum.
Another example of love blooming between silver screen divas and cricket heroes was of actress Sangeeta Bijlani who tied the knot with former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin in 1996. However, the couple got divorced after 14 years of marriage.
Talking about the young lot of actresses and cricketers, Yuvraj Singh reportedly dated actress Kim Sharma for four years, before their relationship came to an end. Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh is said to be dating Bollywood beauty Geeta Basra for almost three years.
Latest on the block is actress Minissha Lamba, who is reportedly dating former Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds.
According to reports, the two were spotted together more than once in different parts of the city. A source said, "Andrew was chilling around with Minissha at her birthday bash at a lounge on Friday evening along with lots of other close friends till the wee hours of the morning. The two were again spotted partying at a suburban club on Saturday evening and the revelry went on till next morning."
If industry insiders are to be believed then, Minissha and Symonds are close friends since last once year and have many common friends as well.
According to reports, Minissha was also seen dining with the Aussie cricketer at a suburban hotel and the couple was looking quite comfortable in each other's company. The actress was also seen laughing and chit-chatting throughout the evening.
