David Guetta takes over the city with his beats
Renowned French DJ David Guetta, who is on his maiden visit to India, set the stage on fire as he churned out hits like "Sweat" and "Memories and without you" at a concert here.
The world's No 1 DJ played for close to one and a half hour for 6000 strong crowd at Leisure Valley last evening.
Fans, who were quite skeptical about the performance after American Rock band Metallica's gig got scrapped at the same venue, had been waiting in the queue to enter the venue since 3 pm.
"I want to thank you so much for coming down to my very first show in this country. I never knew my music was so popular in India. I hope my friends are filming this because I want to remember this as one of my best memories this year. I want to remember Delhi forever, you people are beautiful," said the Grammy award winning DJ to the audience.
Apart from Guetta's foot tapping music fans were also struck by the amazing strobe lighting at the venue. "This is something new, I have never seen such effects at a gig in India. This was something you could only see on Youtube videos of concerts held abroad. I hope many more such gigs are held in the future," said Rahul, a fan.
Prior to Guetta, two Indian acts Dualist inquiry and Nuclea enthralled the audience at the festival. As part of his India tour, Guetta will be performing today in Pune and tomorrow in Bangalore. PTI
