E24 salutes Dilip Kumar on his 90th birthday
One of the greatest actors of the Indian cinema, Dilip Kumar turns 90 today. The actor is hale and hearty his birthday will be celebrated in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province, where he was born before migrating to India, according to reports.

Dilip Kumar was born as Muhammad Yousuf Khan on December 11, 1922 in Peshawar. The veteran actor got his first acting break in 1944, as a lead hero in Jwar Bhata, after being discovered by Devika Rani, and her husband Himanshu Rai, owner of Bombay Talkies.
And from there, Dilipsaab started his journey to stardom and never looked back. In a career spanning over six decades, he gave several critically and commercially hit films and won various awards including the Guinness World Record for winning the maximum number of awards by an Indian actor.
Nadiya Ke Paar (1948), Shaheed (1948), Shabnam (1949), Andaz (1949), Daag (1952), Devdas (1955), Azaad (1955), Naya Daur (1957), Madhumati (1958), Kohinoor (1959), Mughal-E-Azam (1960), Ram Aur Shyam (1967), Shakti (1982) and Saudagar (1991) are some of his hit movies.
