Exclusive: Chitrangada, Arjun have no inhibitions to do bold scenes together
By Lovely Mehrotra
Chidrangada is bold, beautiful and confident. The actress who gained recognition with Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi in 2003, this time definitely plans to leave a mark on audiences mind with her bold scenes in Sudhir Mishras upcoming film, Inkaar.
Based on sexual harassment, Inkaar is a story of Maya Luthra played by Chitrangada who blames her boss Rahul Verma (Arjun Rampal) for an assault at the workplace.
The film whose trailer has undergone more than four additional cuts, promises bold and hot scenes. So, was Chitrangada comfortable shooting such scenes with Arjun? Pat comes her reply, "Before starting the shooting of the film, Sudhir made me and Arjun meet for about 24 times, so by the time film started we were quite comfortable doing that."
Compatibility with your co-star always helps, but was her husband golfer Jyoti Randhawa comfortable with Chitrangada giving those bold scenes with Arjun? The actress simply avoided the question by giving a simple answer, "no comments." Guess, we should have approached Jyoti to get an answer to that one. Never mind Chitrangada if you dont wish to talk about your personal life.
But wait, what about the director? What was he thinking while capturing all that intimacy? Sudhir Mishra, who took inspiration for the film from the current scenario at the workplaces and also says that parts of the film are inspired from his real life incidents, added that as a director he was careful while capturing those scenes on the camera. He added that he made sure to capture only the emotions in the scene and not show too much skin.
How much Chitrangada trusts her director can easily be made out with the fact that she said agreed to be a part of the movie without reading the script. The actress only received a small narration of her role from Sudhir.
Chitrangada, who is considered one of the most promising actresses in Bollywood at present, when asked about her familys influence in her choices of films, the dusky beauty said she doesnt asks anyone, including her husband Jyoti before signing any new project.
Sharing her experience about playing Maya in Inkaar, Chitrangada said that it was a challenging role and definitely draining. She also added that Maya is quite similar to what she is in real life.
Praising both the director and her co-star Arjun Rampal for their hard work, dedication and professionalism, the actress revealed that she even had to chop her long lustrous locks to get the right look for the film.
Chitrangada has definitely come a long way but theres one film she wished she was a part of. And thats Ashutosh Gowarikers Jodhaa Akbar. You would have definitely looked beautiful as Jodhaa, dear, but thats ok, you will surely have many more great projects to be a part of in future.
