Films are my first love: Jaya Prada
Actress-turned-politician Jaya Prada yesterday said cinema remains her first love and it was out of sheer luck that she was elected thrice to Parliament.
"My body and mind are still linked with film world," the independent Lok Sabha MP from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh said, adding that she felt she was 'unfit' for politics and was lucky to be elected to Parliament.
Prada, who was in Patna in connection with a function of a private TV training institute, expressed the desire to work in Bhojpuri films and said she would be acting in one with Manoj Tiwari.
Asked if she was planning to join BJP, Prada, who quit Samajwadi Party in support of expelled party leader Amar Singh, said "There are two years left in my current tenure ... I will take a decision in this regard at an appropriate time."
She also criticised the Delhi government in the case of gang-rape of a girl student in a moving bus and demanded strict punishment to the accused. PTI
