No plans for 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' sequel: Zoya
Director Zoya Akhtar is happy with the appreciation coming from all quarters for her film 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' but she insists that a sequel to the film is not happening immediately.
"As of now we don't have any plans to do a sequel to ZNMD. I don't think it would be correct to do it right now. We will give it a couple years and catch the characters when they are five-year-old," Zoya told reporters here, at the FICCI Frames event.
The road-trip movie, starring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, was a runway hit and bagged several awards in various categories. 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' was in news since its inception for various reasons, be it the rivalry among the co-stars or the much-hyped kissing scene between Hrithik and Katrina. Also, there was speculation that the movie was on similar lines of 'Dil Chahta Hai'.
However, it managed to get good reviews and accolades. It was reported that both Zoya and Farhan are thinking of making a sequel to it but the director has put all those rumours to rest for a while. Ask her if she is thinking of making a travelogue with Katrina Kaif in the lead as reported and and Zoya says, "No, I am not planning a travelogue with Katrina."
But she is definitely thinking of directing another film but nothing is on cards as yet. "I am doing a short film and then I would start writing for my next film," Zoya said. PTI
