Soni condoles Ravi Shankar Sharma's demise

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni today condoled the death of veteran music director Ravi Shankar Sharma who gave several hit songs like Chaudhvin Ka Chand Ho" and "Dil Ke Aarman Aansu Bankey Rah Gaye".

"Ravi was a genius who gave a new meaning to Indian music. His departure has created an irreparable loss for Indian music," Soni said in her message.

Soni also said "Ravi's music was popular in all sections of the people across the country."

Suffering from prolonged illness, Ravi, who has composed music for over 70 Hindi and 14 Malayalam films, died in Bombay Hospital. PTI
