Tete-a-tete with Ramaiya Vastavaiya cast
New Delhi: Prabhu Deva who directed action films like Wanted and Rowdy Rathore, is set to come out of his comfort zone and try his hands on romantic genre with Ramaiya Vastavaiya being his first.
A remake of Deva’s hit Telugu film, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, Ramaiya Vastavaiya marks the B-Town debut of another star kid, Girish Kumar, son of producer Kumar S. Taurani. In a candid conversation with ENI, Prabhu and Girish say it all.
Solving the mystery behind the title of the movie, Prabhu Deva said, “The word ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ is a Telugu word which means ‘Ram will you come’. In our movie, Ram is the name of the lead character played by Girish. Besides, the title is inspired from the famous song Ramaiya Vastavaiya.”
Touching upon the different responsibilities that Prabhu took up in the film, the ace choreographer said, “I have worked with A-listers and newcomers as a choreographer, therefore working with Girish was easy.”
No doubt, the ace director was at ease while shooting, but what about the lead actor who was trying his hands on acting for the first time.
Girish said his experience of working with Prabhu Deva was great. “He was very clear in terms of how he wants a particular scene to be done. He was very patient and it helped me a lot,” said the debutant.
Speaking about his co-stars Shruti Haasan and Jacqueline Fernandez, Girish said, “It was great working with Shruti. She is a very grounded person. Jacqueline too is very sweet, humble and definitely hot.”
Jacqueline will be seen in an item number Jadu Ki Jhappi in the film.
Ramaiya Vastavaiya will hit theatres on July 19.
